Nurture in Nature
We identify children who will benefit from small group nurture sessions in the Nature Classroom through in-depth consultation with class teachers and ALNCo's.

Sessions are led by a primary teacher with extensive ALN experience, supported by additional skilled staff with a range of proficiencies, to meet different learners needs as required. These include forest school and bush craft leaders, holistic practitioners and artists.

The number of sessions for each child is fluid according to their needs. A continuous evaluation of progress and impact feeds into bespoke, responsive planning from session to session.
Grow, Cook, Eat
An in-school programme designed to develop school grounds and create growing spaces to enhance the Curriculum for Wales and well-being.

The aim of this programme is for schools to enhance their grounds as part of the curriculum, in order to transform it into a powerful resource for learning. Nature Child works with children and other stakeholders to design and create biodiverse, wild spaces and a bespoke vegetable growing area.

The vegetable growing project provides hands-on, authentic learning experiences to facilitate the connection between seeds, soil and the food we eat. In sowing, planting, caring for, harvesting, cooking and consuming different vegetables, we enable learning across the AoLE's, and facilitate the four core purposes.

Curriculum for Wales

Nature Child is delighted to welcome children who are not accessing education in school to the Nature Classroom.
We offer a comprehensive range of cross-curricular activities directly linked to the Areas of Learning. Each activity is mapped across the curriculum, incorporating the What Matters Statements.

Sessions can be booked by families or Local Authority agencies.

Topic content and learning objectives are differentiated, and sessions are designed to meet the needs of either children who are 6, 7, and 8 years old (school years 1, 2 and 3), or 9, 10 and 11 years old (school years 4, 5 and 6).

Creating Spaces

The Nature Child team has a rich and varied skillset within Expressive Arts which we use throughout our general practice. Nature Child supports children in exploring their own creativity and experiencing how making art can change the way they feel, as well as impacting the nature of the world around them.

We work with schools and communities on a wide range of creative projects including in-school art workshops, mural making, and sensory garden design and installations.
